This term Year 3 have been learning all about Prehistoric Britain. In Topic today, they learnt about the theories of Stonehenge. These include a burial ground, concert venue, healing place and a calendar. The children had some great discussions about each of the theories and why they thought they may be true or not and the evidence that has been found to support these theories.

The next part of the lesson was the most exciting…building a model of Stonehenge from biscuits. This was definitely the part of the lesson that the children enjoyed the most! The children worked in their Kite groups to try and construct their models. Some groups had more success than others, but they impressed me with their determination and resilience to create a model.

I really liked this lesson! It was great fun and we got to eat the biscuits at the end. It was very interesting learning about Stonehenge. I am looking forward to the next lessons on the Stone Age. I would like to be an archaeologist when I am older so I like it.
