This morning, Inspector Anwar and PC Lowe visited the school to talk about their favourite children’s books. Inspector Anwar talked passionately about his love of reading and one of his favourite authors, Roald Dahl. He discussed the messages in his favourite book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and read a short excerpt for children in assembly.

PC Lowe described the fantasy world of Bilbo Baggins in her favourite book, The Hobbit. She enthusiastically described the thrill of Bilbo’s adventures and how the book took her away from her own day to day life to a place of excitement and adventure.

We would like to extend our thanks to both Inspector Anwar and PC Lowe this morning for their enthusiasm and passion for reading. We look forward to a revisit sometime soon.

I really enjoyed this morning listening to PC Lowe and her favourite book The Hobbit, I love that book, it is one of my favourite books out of the Bookflix pages. I also enjoyed listing to Inspector Anwar… his favourite book was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and that book is also one of my favourites. He also told us why we should listen to our parents. I really enjoyed assembly this morning .

Amy told us at home all about these special visitors!.
She enjoyed their views about the books and she was amazed how a professional would have time to read a book!.
