Year 5/6 Boys Dodgeball

Tonight, a team of seven Year 5/6 boys went to Siddal Moor to compete in the Heywood PE Sports Association Dodgeball competition. The level of competition was extremely high, but the boys played well and showed great sportsmanship and teamwork. Well done boys! You did yourselves and Heap Bridge proud!

Black History Month

October is Black History Month in the UK and it has been celebrated nationwide for nearly 40 years. This month was founded to recognise the contributions that all black  people have made to this country over many generations.

VR Workshop with o2 @o2

This afternoon, children in year 4,5 and 6 experienced a virtual reality workshop with o2. Children used VR head sets, explored different apps and controlled robots. Thank you to Lennie and the o2 team for such an enjoyable afternoon

Islamic art – Year 5

This half term, we have been exploring different styles of Islamic art. Our main concentration has been on geometric patterns, we researched different patterns and then used this to create our own patterns. Drama in Year 5

This term, in English, year 5 have been exploring the rainforest. We are currently writing a narrative that takes explorers on an adventure through the rainforest. Yesterday, we used drama to explore the actions, feelings and thoughts of our characters. Take a look at our work.

Wellbeing & Mindfulness

This term we have all been practising methods to increase our self awareness and self confidence through breathing and movement,  yoga techniques, peer massage and relaxation. Emotionally unwinding allows us to stay healthy and alert.
