Jack and the Beanstalk Assembly

Reception performed in front of parents and grandparents this morning. I was incredibly proud of how confidently the children spoke and led the assembly without any prompting. Thank you to all the parents that came to watch, I am sure you all enjoyed it as much as the children did.

On the Lake

This morning our Year 6 pupils have been out on the lake at Robinwood. First they mastered the paddle to control their canoes before designing building and testing their rafts on the water. it was a wet start to the day but a very enjoyable end to a fantastic weekend. Read more…

Competition winner

Huge congratulations to Amelia Platt who had a surpsise visit this morning from the Link4Life team and NHS representatives. Amelia beat over 400 other entries to design a birthday card for the NHS. Well done Amelia!

Being Yourself

Class One enjoyed looking at the book ‘Introducing Teddy’. A heartwarming story about friendship and acceptance. We discussed the importance of being yourself accepting people for who they are.

Building acceptance

Teaching about difference could eventually eradicate stigma that comes with feeling different. Class 6 have been discussing books that relate to Gender Stereotyping, identity crisis and diversity. Christingle 2017

This evening, the pupils of Heap Bridge led the community in song and prayer during St George’s Church annual Christingle service. Thank you to Rev. Susan, St George’s church and all our pupils and parents for making tonight such a wonderful community service.

Year 6 Puberty Talk

Year 6 had a visit from Steph and Laura, nurses from the NHS, to talk to them about growing up and the changes their body will go through. We had lots of laughs along the way with what can be a very embarrassing subject for some children.

Buddy day in Reception

This afternoon the children were joined by their Year 6 buddy. The children spent time reading stories and showing their buddy around the classroom. Everyone had a great time and will be seeing each other again tomorrow lunch time.

Staying for lunch!

Reception have settled really well into their lunch time routine. They are confident speaking with Mrs Cassidy at the dinner hatch and are all trying new food with their friends. Today they all ventured out into the big playground and met up with their Year 6 buddies.
